Chattel was established in April of 2009 when Laura moved from Naples, Florida to Yarmouth. Previously, she had worked for Ralph Lauren as a Home Store Buyer and Interior Designer for the resort locations, later as an independent consultant for residential construction projects.
In 2013-14, a 5 year degree in Architecture was offered at UMA in Augusta for the first time. Laura joined the inaugural class and graduated in May of 2018.
She lives in Yarmouth with several Jack Russell Terriers who appear in the store periodically.
As a 30 year resident of Yarmouth, a volunteer at Maine Medical Center and
with a successful career, Margi has immersed herself in the community. She is also a longtime patron of the Portland Symphony and Portland Stage, as well as an active member of the Portland Yacht Club.
Margi is the proud mother of two amazing adults and grand-mimi to an extended family of grandchildren and step- grandchildren.
Her love of color and design is a valuable asset to Chattel.
Margi is expecting a new member of her household soon, a Pomeranian.
During Dianne's early professional career as a nurse, she also spent time working for a home furnishing and design company in California. Dianne and her husband, Dave, moved back to the New England area to raise their three children. She continued her nursing career as well as her hobby of home design, remodeling several antique homes in New England. She feels fortunate to have enjoyed many years living and boating on the coastal waters and skiing the mountains of Maine.
Besides her family, her home includes two labs and an old cat.
